Steak Marinade

Yield: about 2 cups

Equipment:

  • 1 - Bowl
  • 1 - Rubber Spatula

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup Balsamic Vinegar
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
  • 3 tbsp Garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Liquid Smoke
  • 1 pinch Cayenne Pepper

Instructions:

  1. Mix all ingredients well.
  2. Cover the steak with the marinade either in a single layer inside a pan or in a bag.
  3. Let marinade for at least 30 minutes, but overnight is preferred.

Notes:

  • To make a great steak sauce to go with this, save the marinade, and cook over medium heat until a thick syrup-like consistency. Add cold cubed butter and stir to emulsify the marinade and the butter. Season with Salt and Pepper if needed.
    The preparation if very similar to Beurre Blanc.
